Buying a new laptop? Our guide to choose best one for your needs

by CWeb

Laptops are always a handy thing to have, literally and actually. They are a device that could be carried anywhere and perform all the official tasks irrespective of where they are. Buying a laptop could sometimes become a hard choice to make and therefore, it is extremely important to choose the right one based on the need and how it will be used.

Laptop Buying Guide

Selecting the best laptop for yourself
There are different criteria that need to be kept in mind when buying a laptop.

• Screen size – Size matters and it is a known fact. The trait about the size of the laptop is that it cannot be changed in the future. Therefore, one should consider the way the laptop will be used and buy accordingly. If it has to be carried around, a laptop with a smaller screen size is recommended but for people looking to buy a laptop for entertainment should go for a bigger size.

• Quality of display – The quality of the screen is another important aspect to consider. There are some people who would prefer a touch screen to make their experience convenient. However, it has been noticed that touchscreens might sometime be glossy and therefore, spoil the experience for those looking to play games or watch videos online. Moreover, since the longer subjugation of eyes to screen can cause damage, it is advisable to take laptops with screens that come with the feature of being not too harmful to the eyes. There are also HD screens available now that can be bought as per need.

• Keyboard – One would not want a keyboard with keys being too close as that could hamper the overall experience. Also, the keys must be extremely responsive and large enough for an enriching experience especially for those using it for official purposes and therefore, need to type in long articles.

• Processor (CPU) – This is a feature that is again dependent on the usage. The better the processor, the more powerful the laptop. If a person strictly needs it for official purposes with not a lot of programs running, they could opt for lower end processors that are might effective. A higher-end processor is for those looking to run big projects on their systems or multitasking that would demand a lot of space to run smoothly.

• Random Access Memory and storage – This is a memory that stores the running of current programs. Therefore, if someone is looking to run multiple programs at once or a really big-sized program, they should go for a higher capacity of RAM otherwise the mainstream RAMs are useful to most of the buyers. The same is applicable to the internal storage and therefore, should be considered when buying a laptop.

• Battery Life – This is a major attribute while choosing any electronic device. It is important to note the battery information or the rating that could tell the person of its actual backup time. The battery is, however, dependent on a lot of things such as brightness, RAM, internet, processing speed so on and so forth. It is advisable to be careful in this aspect.

• Material – There is always a possibility of a laptop getting dropped. Consequently, it becomes important to see what material is being used to build the outside of the laptop. Other aspects could include spills and how the laptop can provide protection against them. There are other features such as dust-free or rain resistant which could be considered.

To buy a laptop, one needs to take their time because of the large investment. Thus, a complete knowledge of one’s own requirement is equally essential as finding them in the laptops available in the market.
